前回の投稿に引き続きまた日光のおすすめスポットですが、こちらも伝統工芸にご興味がある方に特にオススメのスポットです。
Continuing from the previous post, this is another recommended spot in Nikko, but this is also a particularly recommended spot for those who are interested in traditional crafts.
日光田母沢御用邸記念公園 “Nikko Tamozawa Imperial Villa Memorial Park”
この記念公園の中に、すでに皇族の利用は廃止されている御用邸があります。
この御用邸は中に入って見学ができます。
御用邸に施された伝統工芸の技術の継承のため、国の指定重要文化財となっています。
In this memorial park, there is an imperial villa that has already been abolished for use by the imperial family.This villa can be visited inside.
It has been designated as a national important cultural property due to the inheritance of traditional craft techniques applied to the Imperial Villa.

部屋数からも大勢の補佐がいたことが分かります。
内部見学は、もちろん順路に沿って進みますが、まだ終わらない。。。どこまで続くの？！っていう感じの広さでした。
静かで日が当たると風も空気も気持ち良い贅沢な空間でした。

飾り金具・畳縁 Decorative metal fittings and tatami mats
東照宮を見た後だったので、一見すると質素でシンプルな造りに思えました。
しかし細かな飾り金具や畳縁といった所、随所に最上級の職人技が光っていました。
個人的に目に付いたものを写真に撮りました。

漆塗り Lacquered Urushi
漆塗りも下地作業がしっかり施されていることによる最上級の仕上がりでした。
工程の見本でしっかり説明もしてありました。
The lacquer was also the finest finish due to the solid groundwork.
It was explained firmly with a sample of the process.
内部の様々な箇所が黒漆の呂色仕上げの素晴らしい光沢を見せていました。
痩せや欠け、剥がれ、傷さえもほぼ無いような素晴らしい状態のものばかりでした。
Various parts of the interior showed a wonderful luster with a black lacquer finish.
All of them were in excellent condition with almost no thinness, chipping, peeling, or even scratches.
下の写真の艶のあるのは全て漆塗りです。写真でも艶がわかりますが、実物はもっと綺麗です。
The glossy ones in the photo below are all lacquered. You can see the luster in the photo, but the real thing is more beautiful.
日本美術・絵画 Japanese art / painting
部屋のあちこちにある、絵画も見どころの一つかと思います。
誰が描いたものなのかは分かりませんでしたが、どれも描き込まれた線に熟練の絵の技を感じるものばかりでした。また絵画をより引き立てる縁も艶やかな高級感を添える漆塗りです。
I think the paintings around the room are one of the highlights.
I didn’t know who drew it, but all of them felt the skill of painting in the drawn lines.In addition, the edges that complement the painting are lacquered to add a glossy and luxurious feel.
順路は内部から外の庭園までぐるっと一周できるようになっていました。
行った時は秋でしたが、春は桜、夏は新緑、秋は紅葉、冬は雪景色と四季折々の自然美を感じられる場所になっています。
The route was able to go around from the inside to the outside garden.
It was autumn when I went there, but it is a place where you can feel the natural beauty of the four seasons, with cherry blossoms in spring, fresh green in summer, colored leaves in autumn, and snowy scenery in winter.
現代の私たちにとっては平成天皇は同じ時代に生きる存在です。そんな上皇陛下が戦中過ごされた場所だというと少し身近に感じられるかもしれません。
